Shakespeare plays DROMIO on stage

A view of the stage, with a sign telling us that we are in a street in Ancient Greece. Shakespeare is centre-stage, performing as one of two Dromios, both dressed identically in classical style. They stand back-to-back, each angrily asserting his own identity, while other members of the cast look on with confused expressions

DUKE One of these men is the model for the other:
And so of these, which is the natural man,
And which the spirit? Who deciphers them?

DROMIO OF SYRACUS I, sir, am Dromio, command him away.

DROMIO OF EPHESUS I, sir, am Dromio, pray let me stay.

The Comedy of Errors, Act 5 Scene 1
