Shakespeare plays TITANIA on stage

A view of the stage, with a sign telling us that we are in a wood in ancient Greece; there are trees and bushes at the back. Shakespeare dances across the stage, performing as Titania dressed in classical style. He looks ecstatic as two young actors playing fairies bring forward the hapless and confused Bottom, who wears an ass’s head

[Enter Titania, Bottom, and fairies]

TITANIA Come, sit thee down upon this flowery bed,
While I thy amiable cheeks do stroke,
And stick musk-roses in thy sleek smooth head,
And kiss thy fair large ears, my gentle joy.

A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act 4 Scene 1
